Highlights and Events during Wels Christmas World

light path Wels

Hundreds of thousands of light points show the way through a unique illuminated path of lights. The new light path let the wintry city center of Wels shine atmospherically. Over 21 light motifs, installations and lighting elements present exciting stories from Kaiser Maximilian, the Resch & Frisch Brezn to the Ledererturm. The new highlight in Wels can be admired free of charge on a 1.7 km tour through the city center of Wels. In addition, storytellers and guides will offer guided tours along the light path. First the leather tower that sparkles over and over, then the impressive Advent wreath, the glittering Christ Child that hovers over the town square and finally the splendid balls, candy & Co. in the pedestrian zones. The new light path is not only decorated with Christmas motifs, but a longer illuminated adventure path that shines till Candlemas. With impressive light sculptures in the shape of deer, foxes and squirrels, angels, candles and sweets, the city is covered in a real sea of  lights. If you don't just want to experience the beautiful shine of lights while strolling by, you can also explore it very closely on a guided tour. Together with a storyteller (every Tuesday) or an Austria Guide, you go from light object to light object and the guide knows a little story about each character.
