From Benedictine Abbey Kremsmünster to Benedictine Monastery Steinerkirchen

From the mighty Benedictine monastery of Kremsmünster, the trail leads along tranquil field and village paths, first to the idyllically situated pilgrimage church of Heiligenkreuz. From there, the trail passes many rural square farms to Sattledt, where you also cross the large, so-called pre-Alpine motorway junction of the A9. The hilly stage leads across meadows and paths to the Benedictine monastery of Steinerkirchen an der Traun. On the way, on a clear day, you can also catch glimpses of the monasteries of Schlierbach and Lambach, both of which are further stage locations of the Benedict Pilgrims' Way in Upper Austria.

The stage does not overcome any great heights and runs through the hilly landscape of the foothills of the Alps. It mostly leads along field paths and connecting paths, but also has scenic sections through forests and meadows and passes large ponds. The path is lined with typical square farmsteads and many wayside crosses.
