City fountains
Originally, there were two municipal fountains on the city square, the upper and the lower city fountain. Both were built in the 16th century. The upper town fountain had a fountain figure created by the sculptor Hans Püchler from Linz. It represented a knight with a flag and a shield with the municipal coat of arms on it.
Today’s city fountain opposite the town hall is a replica of the Renaissance town fountain from the 16th century.
