In the former Minorite monastery, there is now an exhibition on the early history of the town of Wels from the Neolithic period up to the time of the Bajuwaren (original name of the Bavarians). Particular attention is paid to the Roman era, which is very significant for Wels.

The Archeological Museum is devoted to anthropology and houses one of the most comprehensive records of human cultural history in the Wels Area.
